The first habit · 1 minute

Log a session and win the day.

Tonight, after practice, open TierBreak and log the session: what kind of work, how long, what they worked on, and how good the work was, 1 to 5. The ring on Today fills and the day is won. That is the whole habit, and everything else in the app stacks on it.

The one minute, step by step

  1. Open the Today tab and tap Log a session.
  2. Pick Tennis or Physical, and the type of session.
  3. Set the duration. It moves in fifteen-minute steps; close enough is fine.
  4. Tap up to three things they worked on: serve, return, forehand, footwork, whatever the session actually was.
  5. Rate the quality of the work, 1 to 5. Not the result, the work. A 2 on a tired Tuesday is an honest entry, and honest entries are the only kind worth having.
  6. Add a note if something is worth remembering. Most nights, skip it.
  7. Tap Save session. The Win the Day ring fills. Done.
Who logs it? Whoever is holding the phone. A parent can log it on the drive home; a 13+ athlete with their own login can log it themselves. The entry records who logged it, so the record stays honest either way.

Why this one minute matters

A season of junior tennis is a few hundred sessions that nobody writes down. The scoreline remembers the tournaments; nothing remembers the Tuesdays. One logged session is a fact. Seven of them is a week your family can actually see. A month of them is the first answer to the only question that matters: is the work adding up?

That is why the day is won by doing the work and writing it down, not by winning anything. A planned rest day counts too: rest is part of the plan, not a failure.

What it unlocks, in order

AfterYou get
One sessionA day won, and the first entry in the record.
A weekThe Sunday Weekly Review: days won, hours, what they worked on most, and the first streak.
A monthThis week beside last week, this month beside last month. The athlete measured against their own former self, never anyone else.
A seasonA training record a coach can read and a family can trust, because it was written one night at a time.

Two small things that make it stick

What not to do yet

Do not set up goals, ratings, a coach, or the mental program tonight. They are all here and they all work better after a week of logged sessions, because each of them reads from this record. One habit first. The rest of the guides start once it holds.
